Gibberagong Environmental Education Centre

Gibberagong EEC

Gibberagong Environmental Education Centre (EEC) aims to inspire young people to experience and connect with the natural world and encourage the development of positive behaviour change. Our school vision is to:

"Inspire school communities to know, value and act for the environment."

Gibberagong Environmental Education Centre is a NSW Department of Education School (DoE) located at Bobbin Head within the picturesque Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

All of our programs and school excursions are taught by NSW Department of Education teachers. Our teachers complete the DoE mandatory training each year including Child Protection and Code of Conduct updates. We also hold first-aid certificates and have completed specialist training in specific areas such as canoeing and snorkelling. Meet our staff here.

Our school team comprises of a Principal, school admininstation manager and primary and secondary teachers who are highly specialised in all key learning areas, in particularly science, geography and history as well the cross-curriculum priorities Sustainability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures.

We teach in beautiful locations and our teachers have expert local knowledge. Our school works closely with the NSW National Parks Parks and Wildlife Service and NSW Aboriginal Education Consultative Group.

We lead primary and secondary school excursions, incursions and overnight programs within Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, Muogamarrra Nature Reserve and other locations across northern Sydney.

The centre is on Gu-ring-gai country.
